Description
Solid brass, hand-hammered one at a time
Each knob is turned from a single piece of solid brass and then hand-hammered, so the surface carries small irregular facets that catch the light as you walk past. You can feel the weight the moment you pick it up — the 30 mm size alone is 118 g. No plating, no hollow shell, brass all the way through. Each knob is sold individually and includes an M4 × 25 mm mounting screw.
Why solid brass
- Solid brass, not plated — substantial in the hand, naturally durable, and built to outlast the furniture it dresses. No plating to flake, chip or peel.
- Hand-hammered texture — every piece carries the subtle, unrepeatable marks of the hammer, so no two are exactly alike.
- Ball on a 10 mm base — all four sizes share the same 10 mm threaded base, so they sit on an identical footprint and mix freely along one run of cabinets.
- Threaded body — the mounting screw threads straight into the brass, so there is no loose ferrule to work free.
- Polished finish — a clean, bright surface that wipes back to a mirror shine, or can be left to develop a soft living patina.
- 4 sizes in stock — 20 / 25 / 28 / 30 mm ball, with mounting screw included.
A finish that ages into something better
Left unsealed, every knob develops its own patina. In the first weeks the bright gold warms to a soft honey tone, then deepens over the months into the mellow antique bronze collectors love — never dull, never flaking, just richer with time. It is the opposite of plated hardware that chips and peels. Prefer the shine? A quick wipe with brass polish (or lemon juice and salt) brings the original gleam straight back. The patina is entirely yours to keep or reset.
How to choose your size
All four sizes are solid balls on the same 10 mm threaded base, so they can be mixed freely along one run of cabinets without looking mismatched. Choose by the ball diameter:
- 20 mm ball · 27 mm total height · 38 g — a delicate accent for jewellery boxes, small drawers and shutters.
- 25 mm ball · 32 mm total height · 70 g — the everyday classic for kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
- 28 mm ball · 35 mm total height · 101 g — a confident statement for wardrobes and sideboards.
- 30 mm ball · 37 mm total height · 118 g — bold and substantial for entry doors, armoires and feature furniture.
Ball diameter is measured across the widest point; total height is measured from the mounting surface to the top of the ball.

Care
The surface is polished to a bright gold and left unlacquered, which is how brass is meant to age. Over time it will deepen into a warm antique tone — faster in humid rooms or where it is handled often. If you prefer to keep the bright look, a rub with a soft cloth and a little metal polish brings it straight back.
Please avoid abrasive pads, ammonia-based cleaners and harsh detergents on the surface.

FAQ
- Do I need special tools? No. Drill a 4 mm hole in your door or drawer front, push the screw through from the back and thread the knob on by hand.
- What screw length do I need? The 25 mm screw we include fits standard 18–20 mm panels. If your doors are thicker or thinner, leave a note at checkout with your panel thickness and we will send the matching length instead (20 / 22 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 mm available).
- Will the brass tarnish? Yes, naturally, deepening to a warm antique tone. This is normal and reversible: polish and the shine returns. We leave it unsealed so the patina develops.
