Description

Folded brass edge pulls — the handle that disappears into the door line

An edge pull is a sheet of metal folded into a J and fixed to the face of a cabinet door, so your fingers curl under the lip instead of around a knob. The front of the door stays completely flat: nothing sticks out to catch a sleeve, nothing to knock, and a run of doors reads as one clean line. This one is made from solid brass in two patterns and two lengths, finished in natural brass or black.

Why a folded edge pull

  • Nothing protrudes — the pull sits flat on the door, so a drawer runner in a tight gap is never fouled.
  • A full-width grip — 41 mm of clearance under the lip, so you can get a whole hand behind it and pull a heavy drawer without pinching.
  • No drilling, no routing — the self-tapping screws bite straight into the door face, so there is no recess to chase and no cut-out to make.
  • Solid brass, 1.5 mm sheet — thick enough to stay rigid and to resist wear at the fold line, where a thinner pressing cracks.
  • Two patterns — the leaf is cut through to a vein pattern; the plain panel is a smooth arc for a quieter room.
  • Two lengths, two finishes — eight combinations in total.

Leaf or plain?

The leaf pattern is a cut-out of a leaf and its veins, so the light passes through the openings and the shape reads clearly from across a room. It suits plain shaker doors, painted furniture and anywhere you want a small detail rather than a slab of metal. The plain panel is the same folded profile with a smooth face: it is the quieter option, the one that disappears into a modern flat-front kitchen and looks right next to a stone worktop.

Two lengths, and what your door needs

The 60 mm pull takes two screws 40 mm apart and suits a single cabinet door or a drawer front. The 117 mm pull takes two screws 96 mm apart and gives you a longer, steadier grip on a wide door — a full pantry door, a pair of double doors or a wide drawer. Two things to check before you fit it: the pull is made for a door front between 16 and 18 mm thick, and the fixing position needs about 3 mm of clearance above it so the pull does not foul the door above.

Where they work

Kitchen cabinet doors and drawer fronts · Wardrobes and closet doors · Sideboards and buffets · Dressers and chests of drawers · TV units and media cabinets · Bathroom cupboards · Bedside tables · Fitted wardrobes and built-in storage.

Installation

Mark the two hole centres on the door face — 40 mm apart on the 60 mm pull, 96 mm apart on the 117 mm pull. Hold the pull in position, drive the two self-tapping screws supplied straight through the door face and into the folded flange, then press the pull down so the fold sits square and flat. There is nothing to drill or route first: the screws cut their own thread into the timber. Check that the door still closes without fouling the unit above before you tighten the last screw. If your door is MDF or particle board, run a small pilot hole first so the board does not split.

Care

Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Both finishes are sealed — the natural brass is lacquered and holds its tone, and the black is a baked lacquer over the same brass body. Neither wants abrasive pads, metal polish, bleach or ammonia: they dull the coating and cut through the lacquer, and once that happens it cannot be brought back evenly.

FAQ

  • Do I need to drill the door? No. The self-tapping screws bite into a timber door, so there is no drilling, no routing and no cut-out to chase. In MDF or particle board, a small pilot hole keeps the board from splitting.
  • Will it fit my door? It is made for door fronts 16–18 mm thick, with about 3 mm of clearance above the fixing position.
  • Which length do I need? 60 mm for a single door or drawer front, 117 mm for a wide door or a pair of doubles.
  • How is it fixed? Two self-tapping screws per pull, driven through the door face into the folded flange.
  • Is it solid brass? Yes — brass throughout, with a lacquer on the black finish rather than a plating over a different metal.
  • What if one arrives damaged? Contact us with a photo and we will replace it.
