Description
Solid brass, hand-hammered one at a time
Each knob is turned from a single piece of solid brass, then hand-hammered so the surface carries small irregular facets that catch the light as you walk past. There is no plating and no hollow shell — brass all the way through, with the weight to prove it (the 30 mm knob alone is 123 g).
This version sits on a raised, round seated base, so the knob stands slightly off the door or drawer face for a more substantial, furniture-grade feel. A 25 mm mounting screw is included.
Why solid brass
- Solid brass, not plated — substantial in the hand, naturally durable, and built to outlast the furniture it dresses. No plating to flake, chip or peel.
- Hand-hammered texture — every piece carries the subtle, unrepeatable marks of the hammer, so no two are exactly alike.
- Raised seated base — the knob stands slightly off the surface, echoing traditional furniture hardware and giving a firmer, more substantial grip.
- Threaded body — the mounting screw threads straight into the brass, so there is no loose ferrule to work free.
- Polished finish — a clean, bright surface that wipes back to a mirror shine, or can be left to develop a soft living patina.
- 3 sizes in stock — 20 / 24 / 30 mm top diameter, with a 25 mm mounting screw included.
A finish that ages into something better
Left unsealed, every knob develops its own patina. In the first weeks the bright gold warms to a soft honey tone, then deepens over the months into the mellow antique bronze collectors love — never dull, never flaking, just richer with time. It is the opposite of plated hardware that chips and peels. Prefer the shine? A quick wipe with brass polish (or lemon juice and salt) brings the original gleam straight back. The patina is entirely yours to keep or reset.
How to choose your size
All three sizes share the same raised seated base and 25 mm screw, so they can be mixed freely along one run of cabinets without looking mismatched. The size is given as top diameter × height, and each also has its own base diameter:
- 20 × 26 mm (base Ø 15 mm) — a neat accent for smaller drawers, cabinets and shutters.
- 24 × 30 mm (base Ø 16 mm) — the everyday classic for kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
- 30 × 38 mm (base Ø 18 mm) — bold and substantial for wardrobes, sideboards and feature furniture.
Top diameter is measured across the widest point; height is measured from the mounting surface to the top of the knob.

Care
Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Brass darkens naturally with handling and air, which is exactly what many buyers want; to restore the shine, use a little brass polish, or a soft cloth with lemon juice and salt. Avoid abrasive pads and ammonia-based cleaners, which scratch the polished surface.

FAQ
- Do I need special tools? No. Drill a pilot hole to suit the included 25 mm screw, push the screw through from the back of the door or drawer front and tighten the knob on by hand.
- Why a raised base? The seated base lifts the knob slightly off the surface, echoing traditional furniture hardware, and spreads the load for a firmer, more substantial grip.
- Will the brass tarnish? Yes, naturally, deepening to a warm antique tone. This is normal and reversible: polish and the shine returns. We leave it unsealed so the patina develops.
